Job Description

The core role will involve the development and delivery of new technologies for the wind industry as part of wider engineering teams. This will include:

 

·       Precision measurement of wind turbine structures in the field

·       Life extension assessment of wind turbines

·       Calibration of test equipment

·       Engineering design and CAD drawing

·       Data analysis

·       Root cause analysis of structural failures

·       Inspecting and preparing site service equipment

·       Client reporting

·       Planning travel and work logistics 

 

Other aspects of the role will include:

·       Participating in business development activities

·       Supporting the management of collaborative R&D projects

Skills and Experience

Core Skills

  • Candidates should have a strong mathematical, science or analytical background.

  • An interest in practical mechanical and/or electronic systems.

  • Competence with Microsoft Excel and data analysis.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (optional)

  • Familiarity with software development (optional)


Qualities

Working in small remote teams requires individuals who are self-motivated, resourceful and take personal responsibility.

 

We are looking for someone who enjoys the challenge of trying to find solutions to problems and pushes themselves to look for new ways of doing things.

 

Applicants should enjoy challenging stereotypes and want to work as part of a modern diverse team.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a 2.1 degree in an engineering or relevant technical discipline.

Alternatively candidates should have completed an engineering apprenticeship with a Level 4 or 5 vocational qualification.

Candidates should have a clean driving licence.

The offshore wind industry is perfect for adventurous people with a love of the outdoor environment. The role will involve periods of site work on onshore and offshore wind farms located in the UK and overseas.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a right to work in the UK.

Salary and Working Arrangements

£30,000-£45,000 depending on skills and experience
