Coventry and Warwickshire Innovation Support

We have completed the first stage of our technology development with the conclusion of a successful demonstration project supported by Coventry City Council Innovation Programme and part-funded by ERDF (European Regional Development Fund).

The project has shown that we can measure fastener preload accurately on a range of installed wind turbine fasteners and are able to support wind farm operators in moving away from routine re-tightening activities to a lower cost, higher quality and much safer fastener inspection.

The next phase for us involves working with strategic development partners to put the technology through rigorous real world testing to reinforce the case that routine re-tightening of structural wind turbine flanges can be more effectively managed through an intelligent approach to asset integrity.
